As I sit at the airport with a few of my classmates waiting to board the plane that will officially kickoff my trip to Peru, I find myself filled with anticipation and excitement for the adventures and learning experiences that lie ahead. Joining me on this journey are 19 amazing students, all embarking on a […] read full post >>

A Long Overdue “Hello Everyone!”

Posted by: Grace Baker

I must confess- I’ve been putting off posting this blog. Not because I’ve been ignoring Jon’s polite reminders in the chat, but because I’ve been finding it rather difficult to describe who I am, and properly encompass my excitement about LAST 315 in 500 words.  Yet, tonight it must be done. Afterall- there will be […] read full post >>

Countdown to Peru!

Posted by: emily que

Bienvenidos to my blog amigos! I have procrastinated writing this post because I have put unnecessary pressure on myself by advertising my blog extensively to my friends and coworkers because I did not expect them to be seriously interested (hello coworkers and friends). Nevertheless, I am touched by the amount of support I’ve received from my workplace and friends who encouraged and validated my participation in this seminar. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading my classmates’ entries because it is not often that we are given a space in our class to express our thoughts and opinions and simply peer into their minds about their general interests and expectations. read full post >>

Before I Arrive In Peru…

Posted by: benc331

Hey there! My name is Ben, or you can call me Benjamin if you’d like, I don’t mind. I am beyond excited to use this blog to share my experiences in Peru and all the wonderful new things I learn. I am writing this from My mom’s home in Nayarit Mexico. While I’m officially here to visit my mom, it’s also a place to fumble about with my comically limited Spanish and soak in some Latin American vibes before landing in Lima. However, in typical Ben Collins fashion, I came...read more read full post >>

Flight to Lima tomorrow… As the realization that I am actually going to Peru sets in at last, I am beginning to switch my brain off of vacation mode; as should be evident from my last blog post (lol!), I have been leaning heavily into the time off. I want this blog post to serve […] read full post >>

Blog Post 0 – Peru Here We Go 🙂

Posted by: ana flechas

Welcome to my Peru blog! I'm eagerly awaiting touching down in Lima and meeting you all. A few days ago, I officially became an art history major at UBC! I spent the first two years of my degree studying neuroscience before deciding to transfer faculties last summer and have since been waiting for my transfer application to go through. I feel as though LAST 315 will not only be a rich experiential learning experience but also affirm my academic aspirations as an arts student. read full post >>
