Funding

This program is supported by Indigenous Global Connections funding.

  • IGC gives students an opportunity to participate in non-traditional exchange experiences, cross-cultural collaboration and professional networking with Indigenous peoples in Canada and globally—with a focus on sharing and learning with local communities.
  • All eligible students selected to participate in an IGC-designated Global Seminar will receive up to $5,000 in funding ($4,000 from IGC and $1,000 from the Go Global Award).

This award is available for students who are Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

The intention of this award is to support students who identify as Indigenous or are interested in international learning experiences centered on Indigenous topics and dialogue

Students who identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuk (Inuit) are prioritized.

Students on both UBC campuses are eligible.

IGC Award requirements:

  • Participate in pre- and post-experience dialogue with other students taking part in this program
  • Submit additional program surveys from the Canadian government and provide receipts for flights
  • If you withdraw after accepting your spot, you are required to return any award funds received

Candidates will automatically be considered with their program application.
